Child and Family Center
Child and Family Center aims to provide seamless, comprehensive, and continuous support for pregnant women and families raising children by integrating maternal and child health functions with child welfare functions at the municipal level.
The Center responds to consultations from pregnant women, families raising children, and children. Guided by support plans, the Center discusses needs, goals, and support measures with the individuals concerned. It provides support through direct engagement and consultation by Center staff. The Center coordinates with people surrounding the child and family as well as relevant organizations and community resources (including private organizations and community activities). It also makes use of services such as maternal and child health programs, child-rearing support programs, and family support services. Through these efforts, the Center continuously provides and coordinates support tailored to each family’s circumstances.
In addition, the Child and Family Center is responsible for identifying and visualizing community resources, strengthening multi-sectoral cooperation among relevant organizations and community resources, and developing support services through identifying and training human resources in response to local needs (such as those of pregnant women and families raising children). Through these roles, the Center functions as a core mechanism within municipalities to ensure the early identification of family difficulties and the provision of sustained, integrated support. At the same time, the Center also contributes to the development and strengthening of local child and family support systems.
